This is a quick sketch I did right before you enter the site. It is across the street from the architecture building at MIT near the bus stop structure. I found out after two visits that students tend to crowd around this area, group up and talk among one another. The cars slow down at that road creating a usual threshold into and out of the space. The sculpture near the site is engaged in a different way only through photography, touching, and visually seeing. The sidewalks are used differently with the sidewalk going towards the chapel being used the most since its under the shelter of the trees. The more linear sidewalk is less used and has more exposure to the sun. More observations to come with a couple more visits.
Let me know what you think,
Brian
Some nice thoughts here. Intesting investigation into the way people move, in relationship to sun and trees. Keep visitng!
